Everything you said is 100% true.
Especially about Udemy courses.

That having been said I signed up for CodeCademy pro as a yearly subscription and have gotten alot out of it.
That combined with the app got me up to speed. Also I needed something to keep me on track at first. At the very least It got me to come back everyday and kept me focused. Scrimba is also a good resource,
But now as I start to put together a portfolio is when my learning really skyrocketed.

Also those code challenge websites(and i've signed up for alot) I'm sure would be great if I was a teenager or hobbyist but as someone trying to change careers, they are discouraging and distracting.

You know, I actually have to second Scrimba, minus the fact that a lot of their courses are now paid. It's understandable, though—they gotta make a living somehow, right?

The platform is magic, and how it works is beyond my comprehension. It helped me quite a lot when I was getting started with React :)
