I personally don't recommend using pipenv until they fix some of their serious issues like this one: github.com/pypa/pipenv/issues/3827
Pipenv hasn't released a new version for the last 1.5 years and it could be several more months before they do.
However, they have been working really hard to make progress lately so we'll have to wait and see
