Hi all, several months ago I wrote an article "Revolutionizing the CMS" regarding a different approach on website building. Maybe a bit dramatic with the title, however it does combines the development aspect along with managing content, all in one.
I recently launch a demo site demo.jaydms.com to start letting other developers interact with it, in hopes of getting some honest feedback. I would like to get a sense what direction to continue with this project. As developers, we never truly know how others will interact with the tools we create.
Just to give you some insight, it's a flat-file platform that uses json files to manage all content and runs on Apache or Nginx, and PHP. It'll be available soon as an open source project. Documentation is still in the works, so the demo site will have to be an exploration at the moment. The site files are automatically reset every 4hrs. Sign-in info is provided below.
The idea is, build your components, that help create the templates, that get applied to your post types. You'll get what I'm saying when you try out the demo, hopefully :).
Please do reach out at @getJayDMS with any feedback or comments. I'm looking forward to hearing from the community.
