Look if you're a developer and just want to stay on that level that's cool. But FaaS has to run on something. VMs only do so much. K8s is a platform for platforms and I dare you to do what you can now a days with something like Ansible easier. There's a lot more to software than just FaaS too so don't think that's the be all end all unless your goal is to yield control over to a specific could, their management and price tag.
