I don't understand why googling for an answer is wrong and frowned upon. Since the advance of internet, developers have transformed to google developers. Is it always the best? No because we often replicate mistakes. But when you hire an intern, how to you expect for a person to have this knowledge from experience? In my opinion, potential and the ability to quickly work around a problem are the traits to hire not just for junior devs but senior ones as well.

Thanks Mike! I decided to join Foursquare because it was a fast growing startup (<100 people, around Series B) at the time and I wanted to experience working at a startup on a fast upward trajectory.
