It's a very good post, I was always asking myself this !

But, what if someone is using VPN ? (Forget the WebRTC part)

If you're using a VPN, it still doesn't let you pay the wrong price (because the real price is set by your credit card's address), but yes you might see the wrong price on a pricing page.

That's not perfect, but I think it's ok. The user will see a price in a foreign currency, they'll start your purchase flow, enter their location, and then see the correct price for their real location, before continuing and purchasing.

In most cases this is likely to end up with an unexpected discount, as I suspect there's a lot more people VPNing into the US from India (to avoid US-only content blocking) than into India from the US, for example.
