The Google Docs interview thing is just weird. It also seems flawed. When I went through it the guy failed me, but before the interview ended I took a copy of the code I'd written and dropped it into an IDE and it actually compiled and ran just fine. I guess they just didn't like my coding style or personality. π
Being rejected by Google after studying for two months, going through 3 or 4 phone interviews and a day of 5 rounds of in person interviews π¬

YES, plus the writing code in a Google Doc is absurd to me. That was also probably my worst experience, though the recruiters were awesome.
Yeah the Google doc part is no fun.
But now that a few years have passed, in hindsight, I don't think the whiteboard interviews work that well either.
It's also true that at the scale Google hires they probably make sense for them
