Is it okay to post every (programming related) medium blogs to dev.to?

What's your thoughts on this?

I meant to add that this post can use better tags to get your question in more relevant feeds. Here are a couple more relevant tags than the ones you used along with why.

#meta is for posts about DEV, which is certainly the case for your question.

#writing is often used by those whose posts are related to writing blogs so might be a good choice for this one. You'd likely get the opinion of those who write about writing blogs that way.

#discuss is also a good choice since you are asking for other opinions.

There are many who cross post their blogs either to multiple platforms and/or to a personal blog site. It increases reach so more people see your content. To do it right, you should make sure that you pick one as the canonical version, and use the different platform's settings to set the canonical url. The settings for a post on DEV have an option to specify the canonical url if it is other than the DEV post. Many users with personal blog sites cross post to DEV, but set canonical to the version on their personal site. This way google won't penalize anyone for duplicate content and personal site gets credit, but you get the DEV readers who see it in their DEV feed. You could do the same thing with DEV and medium, or with both of those plus personal blog site. Definitely set canonicals though to avoid google penalizing you in search results for same content.
