That is pretty much what I would say too on the subject. Really good read, thanks.

I'm always surprised how often I have to tell people to read the error message.

The deductive reasoning is what I enjoy most. I took a class at the univ in the -80s and it have payed off ever since.

Besides TDD, I use strong typing as a way of getting less bugs.

Thank you, Per! Really a good catch about strong typing, it had to be in the article. Using static typing languages or dynamic languages with type checkers can help to reduce amount of bugs beforehand. Regarding read the error I can say it even a more common problem for non-native speakers as through such juniors English is usually is not strong and they are too lazy or too scared to read error message in detail...

English is a pretty strong requirement here in Stockholm. The developer market is totally overheated so lots of people from all over the world is working here. In my current team, there are almost as many nationalities as there are people. So you need to speak English to get a job. Fortunately, most of us that grew up here, are fluent enough thanks to school and subtitled movies/TV-series.
