Also, is webdev much disliked because of JavaScript? I find CSS to be highly historical and convoluted as well. Also, end-users can be very choosy and critical.
IMO, mobile app also has a frontend. Desktop app also has a frontend. Also, we must not do too much work in UI thread, and delegate to the background, i.e. the server.
I find frontend enticing, and webdev is probably the most structured way to UI development, nicely separating frontend and backend...
Also, I wonder how large is mobile market share...
