re: Who's looking for open source contributors? (April 23 edition) VIEW POST

FULL DISCUSSION

The arrow-kt org is looking for new contributors preferably with experience in Functional Programming, although it isn't strictly required.

Arrow-kt is a library that brings constructs from Haskell, Scala, OCaml, and other functional languages to Kotlin. This enables mobile developers to use their favorite paradigm on Android development, in a language that's vetted by Google and accepted at most companies.

We have the core constructs built and stable, and we're looking into expanding on several fronts:

  • Documentation: specially for the Java community, having good documentation is key for adoption
  • Integration: Typeclass instances for JVM frameworks like Pulsar or Reactor
  • Extending our typeclass library: While we have most key types of the MTL library, we're still missing some of the less common ones like Contravariant, Hash, Semiring, or Parallel

The maintainers are active on gitter and Kotlinlang Slack. Come say hi anytime!
