How I've demonstrated growth mindset recently

Alt Text
In life, we daily meet constantly challenges that shape our personality either in a good or bad way but at the end day something considerable changes in us. One's with a growth mindset believes that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point.

I have recently been able to experience a growth mindset in my software developer career. In February, I decided to apply in the 5-month stack up program provided by Andela which consists of learning and working on a different project that helps acquire technologies knowledge and tools to be a job-ready developer in the tech industry. During the roll phase of the program, we had to develop a full-stack application in only two weeks those were the two intensive weeks I have had for a long time. We had to Implement a lot of features in a short time and that's where I learned to be flexible and keep up with the pace of challenge I was facing. Sometimes I would have to stay awake up to 1 AM in the night to fix a bug or come up with a solution to implement a certain feature of the application.

This experience though many things but the one I found help and an example of mindset growth I will state will collaboration. I meet teammates in my group and we would discuss errors we meet and what better solutions we can come up with I found it very helpful since we were both benefiting from those discussions it was quite a great experience and valuable lesson I learned. Before I mostly loved working solo in most of my projects I wasn't a fan of collaborations in software development because I always believed one alone can accomplish a lot of work but that was before I know teamwork collaboration.

In short, The Andela stack-up program specifically the roll-up phase gave me an opportunity to learn new things and also from my teammate which helped me grow my mindset.
