In case you haven't seen it
Personally, I use it a lot to discover cool new libraries.
What about you?
We are trending on GitHub now, probably for the last time :(
Can you help us with a like so we at least stay there a little bit more? ❤️

It seems they have decided to reconsider after the feedback they received on this. They took down the deprecation notice. And this is a link to a response to a discussion that indicates they are going to re-evaluate the decision.
That's actually a relief, we got all our growth from there 🤯
I'm glad to see they're reconsidering their decision, but I believe the narrative that the team surfaced as part of the feedback cycle. I do use the trending tab, but it is very infrequent, maybe once every 1-2 years.
I most recently used it in the last 90 days, and spent a decent amount of time going through different lists that had been put together. I got some value, but at the same time it wasn't exactly what I was hoping or with my browsing. The curated lists could likely be refined further, and maybe market their curations more frequently.
I think the Trending Tab is great but as you said it might need a bit of retouching
I was unaware it even existed until I read this post, and actually had to hunt around for it. I won't miss it if it goes.
This is one of the best way to discover new projects
I've never once considered GitHub as a place for that. I really wish services would stick to what they do well instead of turning everything into a social network with a feed.
Do people actively seek out new projects just because they're new or popular, without actually searching for something specific? If so, why? I don't see the point. Sure, I follow some tech news feeds and will sometimes take a look at interesting stuff... but I never think "Hey, I want to find some interesting new repos!"
I like the "You don't know what you don't know".
I used to write many stuff myself such as Authotization, Notifications and Payment
and then I discovered Novu, Permit and Lago.
Guys. Developers are becoming less exciting :(. A moment of silence, please.
I have always wondered why GitHub doesn’t have robust discover features like other social platforms. They have it for the GitHub actions but it’s pretty difficult to discover projects otherwise.
Looks like they are keeping the Trending tab `🎉
It has changed
