Great article Helen. I personally need to step up my estimation game. I'm not a believer in estimating every task, but is important to estimate the scope of the project. In Jira terms it would be: estimate Epics/Stories, not Tasks/Subtasks/Bugs.
Story level is great! I'd say that if you can do that well then the tasks are already close enough to mind.
It's something I need to work on too. It's a bit of an art form to give a realistic estimation and not disappoint your stakeholders.
