They are job placement companies. Big companies may use them for hiring, sometimes to find contractors, sometimes to find employees.

The people who place people are called recruiters. You could find the recruiters in your area on LinkedIn and send them a message and friend request.
If there are none in your area maybe a remote job would be better:
