Discussion on: Why I Stopped Interviewing with Companies That Require a Coding Test

Hi Bradston - so I think the most appropriate "test" I was given during an interview was kind of like an IQ test. It had nothing to do with coding (i.e. soring an array of 1MM numbers without sort) - but it had everything to do with being able to "think outside of the box". It had questions that had obviously more than one correct answer - and in some of the questions they asked you to list as many solutions to the question that you could come up with. This company was looking for a multi-faceted developer that had good common sense and also the ability to solve a problem that did not have a clear answer.
