Who the hell am I?

I'm Miguel. I got my hands dirty with HTML and CSS a few years ago and I never looked back. I love web development, I find it so fascinating and exciting. The fact that we always have to keep learning (if we want to be great developers) was a big factor in my choice to become a developer.

When I'm not working with code I'm usually reading a book or at the gym pumping iron. Some nights I like to stay in and code or read. Other nights I like to go out for drinks with my friends. Enough about me though, let's talk mindset.

The Importance of Mindset

Mindset is something I don't see very often in the developer community. There are many great programmers that are also great instructors and I have learned a HUGE amount of technical skills from them. But I can't say I have found many programmers preaching about mindset.

I like to define mindset as your set of beliefs, the way you see the world, and how you handle different situations. Both positive and negative. Most people have beliefs that hurt them more than they even realize.

I'm not an expert or a god in this field. I have learned a lot and I have much more to learn. But I can teach you what I've learned and I can tell you about my failures and what I have learned from them as well as my successes and what I have learned from them too.

Mindset doesn't discriminate. It doesn't know color, social status, wealth, race or gender. No matter who you are and where you are. If you don't have the right mindset, you will always be limited in life.

Mindset is what allows you to become great and eventually unstoppable.

Mindset is what allows you to overcome any adversity.

Mindset is what allows you to smile whenever you face a new challenge.

Mindset is what wakes you up with energy ready to tackle the day.

Mindset is what takes you from being a sheep to being a wolf.

Mindset is EVERYTHING.

What's Next?

I'm going to start writing on this awesome website frequently. I love the fact that we have something like this, a place for developers to come together and share our experiences and wisdom.

A big chunk of my posts will be about mindset, but you can also expect me to talk about other topics.

Do let me know if you have any questions or suggestions related to mindset and anything related to it(discipline, courage, ambition, etc...).

You can also find me on Instagram @miguelthedev.
