Is Your Model Management (YUMM) a scam?

Our research suggests it is NOT a scam, Here you can review about them.

I am a model company researcher who selects the selected model companies or rather the most prominent ones to check if they are legitimate and not a scam. One such company is Your Model Management or YUMM, as some call it. My, for the benefit of the viewing public, like you, is to investigate them thoroughly and decide if they are, in fact, a scam or a legitimate model company. In doing so, I research them, pretend to be one of their role models under a pseudonym (that is, aliases), and interrogate them with deep questions

By getting my results I decide if they are a scam or not. Having done my research, I can honestly say that they are NOT a scam, but a legitimate but strict modeling agency. These are the reasons why:

  1. Many modeling companies (but more modeling platforms that send to studios for test sessions) have deviated from my questions and refused to answer them. This is a serious red flag, as a serious company defends itself and has nothing to hide or run from. Your Model Management did not hide from my questions and those answered.

  2. YUMM only makes money when the model gets a job taking around 20% of their fees for their hard work.

  3. As a modeling agency, which no modeling company does, they give you TWO free modeling sessions, no modeling company does that.

  4. They pay for photo shoots and touch-ups / touch-ups

  5. They offer free model training.

  6. Many modeling platforms (ie studios) keep changing their names every few months. This is because, after having scammed innocent model applicants out of hundreds and thousands of pounds and lied to them about fake jobs, their bad reputations spread across the internet and they are forced to change their names. YUMM has not changed its name, which is the sign of a reputable modeling agency.

  7. Instagram. Instagram tells you everything you need to know about how good a modeling company is and have looked at some of the brands they have worked with (e.g. GQ Magazine, Little Mix, David Guetta, HUF Magazine, London Fashion Week, Figleaves , ASOS Marketplace, ABC Fashion Magazine, Toni & Guy, etc) I personally contacted some of these companies and they confirmed that they used some of the YUMM models.

  8. DO NOT lie to model applicants. When I applied to them, I asked them a key question. This was, “did I have a guaranteed job?” They didn’t lie to me. They told me that they cannot guarantee a model job because no legitimate agency can. The client pays the modeling fees to decide who to hire (not the agency, regardless of who the models are). All the agency can do is defend and present the model for the job, but the paying client has the final decision. Furthermore, they claim that they cannot guarantee how much work a model gets also depends on how available and accessible the model is. If they are poor in these areas, which is not the agency’s fault, how can they get a lot of work?

  9. They are a very diverse modeling agency. This means that they give opportunities to all models of all sizes. This includes tall and slim models, curvy and plus size models, younger models, etc. Many other agencies only cater to high-end models, which means if you are a woman you must be a minimum height of 5.9 and a maximum size of 8 or don’t bother to apply. Men must be at least 6 feet tall with an athletic build.

You think they charge a fee. No proper modeling agency does it right?

Absolutely wrong. They do not charge a fee, but instead charge what is known as a refundable security deposit. This is no different from saying, when you pay a refundable deposit for an apartment that you may want to rent. Your refundable deposit starts from £ 100 but can go up, but ONLY if the model chooses a higher refundable package. The model gets this money back, but only as long as it doesn’t dirty the agency by breaking the model contract it signed and agrees to honor. So how does the model break the contract, you ask?

a) By not showing up for jobs they promised OR by being late. Why is this important? Because if a model is late or does not show up at all, not only are they being selfish and inconsiderate, the client will need someone to complain to and get compensated. That “someone is your management model, not the model.” Remember, the client has likely spent a lot of money planning their work (stylists, photographers, set designers, makeup artists, etc.). All this has been planned based on the model or models that appear. If they don’t, money may be lost and someone may have to pay for it. Imagine an actor not showing up for an acting role, how much chaos that would bring!

b) Get the free airbrushed photos that YUMM has paid for and then disappear. YUMM gives the model a free copy of the images, which they can use on their social media, for example. YUMM pays for images as an investment that they hope to recoup when they get model workloads.

c) Your Model Management has a job board that is for open jobs. Therefore, in addition to having a booking model that will proactively search for jobs for the models, to maximize the job prospects of the models, the model is expected to look for jobs there as well. If they don’t, they lose their deposit as it will mean they are not proactive, as promised in the original model interview.

AS LONG AS THE MODEL IS ADHERING TO THE ABOVE SIMPLE RULES, YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR DEPOSIT YUMM TELLS ME

YUMM downside

I. They are friendly and laid back, but very strict with their rules.

ii. Some models have lost their deposit and have complained. Even going online to discredit and curse the agency as a scam. I asked YUMM about this and they proactively sent me some communication between themselves and these select few models. I must say that, in all cases, the model was at fault. The agency informed them that they broke the contract, why they broke it, and they were generously given another chance to get their deposit back, not lose it. The models refused and insisted on getting the deposit back. When YUMM stood their ground and refused, they went online to curse them as a scam. No, a scam is when they lie to you and do not give you what the modeling agency has provided. A scam is not where the model breaks the rules but insists that your deposit be returned. In fact, no proper, professional, legitimate company in the world works that way. Every day, people lose the money from the deposit on the apartments they rent, the plane and train tickets they

“If you think you are the type that is likely to let the agency down on their rules or that you cannot pay the refundable deposit, then do not apply to them. But, if you are likely to be serious, love to be photographed for free, and want a chance to earn good money, I would recommend them.”
