I remember when the first Macintosh (remember when they were called Macintosh?) came out and the big WYSIWYG trend start. Hey, a piece of paper is white, so white background everywhere! Back then I was using DOS and did not get into the "white background" environment before the 1990s (save for the occasional use of GEM (ooooh!) and Windows in the late 1980s). Aaaaand now we're back to black backgrounds. I've gotten so used to white backgrounds that I have a hard time really saying which one works better for me. I do miss my 12" amber monitor that I used from 1986 to 1988. Best antiglare ever. Never had any eye fatigue with that one.
I only recently switched Visual Studio to the dark theme.
