I have recently spent time in an environment like that of the "Fake Professional". It's easy to forget, and some people don't know that there are in fact standards; for instance IETF. There is also the ACM Code of Ethics.
There is a troubling lack of accountability though, maybe the real professional is someone who holds themselves accountable.
