Whether it's coding, commute, leisure time or workout, most of us love music around us. I was wondering, what headphones or earphones do you use and could you expand a bit why you like them?
I use Sennheiser HD-201 headphones. Great price/quality ratio.
I also use Plantronics BackBeat FIT Bluetooth headphones for training. Super durable and comfortable for their purpose.

IMO, Audio Technica by far has the best over the ear headphones on the market when it comes to cost-to-value ratio. I use the ATH-M30x for general purpose use and the ATH-M50x for recording and mastering audio.
Just curious what type of training are you referring to?
Being producer myself, ATH-M50x has always been my dream <3
Tho, I've heard a lot of good stuff about ATH-M40x, too.
Are you a producer composing your own music too, or specifically just audio engineer (mastering services), working with already composed material?

Same for me actually, focus on producing has faded, since coding has become a priority... I usually did electronic music back then :)
I got a pair of ATH-M40X, they've have really been great. The sound performance I get, considering the price, is great.
Do you use any external audio interface to get the most out of them?
As for my research Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 has a great value-cost ratio.

When I commute on the incredible noisy BART trains I rely on my BOSE Quiet Comfort 25s. I often don't even listen to anything in them, just wear them for the noise cancelling.
When I'm working from home and doing remote pair programming I wear a Massdrop x Sennheiser PC37X gaming headset. I really appreciate how physically raising the boom will mute the mic -- it makes it very clear that you're muted when video conferencing.
I use a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M40X
I wanted to start getting into higher end audio devices and so far these have been great. Some people don't like the sound profile of these - it's quite flat - but I've gotten used to them. Also the ear cups are a little on the small side, but you can replace those.
JBL E45BT. Good price, nice sound quality, and amazing Bluetooth range. It comes with a cable to physically plug the headset to the computer, so it doesn't spend any battery, while connected like this. I love it.
I got a sale on Sony wh700(some model like that...) For $80. They are wiress, noise cancel, have a mic, and support Google assistant.
I will say that I tolerare the pressure that slowly progresses on my head as the ear muffs get worn... But they were great for we work at office, and matter much less now that I work remote.
In most cases, a Turtle Beach Elite Atlas Areo. Can't comment on how durable it is as I only just recently got it (upgraded from a decade old Logitech G35), but the audio quality is rather good, battery life is great when running wireless, mic is very good, and the controls are well designed.
Right now, Sennheiser HD 598 C. I got them when I asked my boyfriend to fix a short in my Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless as a gift and he ended up breaking them more. I think I also shorted my Sennheiser HD 579 I had for just chilling at my desk after work. Those earpads were SO COMFY but it's a discontinued model now.
To prove I'm not entirely brand loyal, my earbuds for walking to/from the office were MEE audio M6 PRO and later Samsung Buds.

Currently I use Shure SE215. Nice price, long cable, comfortable long-term, pleasant sound. Best part: if cable dies, you can replace it on the cheap.
I like wired headphones and prefer in-ears due to convenience (nothing over the head, over the ear, good sound isolation, no overheating and no battery life to worry about, no charging needed). And they also cost a lot less. And you can wear a hat with them.
@home: Beyerdynamic dt990, great sound, can be considered on the cheaper side.
@work: Galaxy S7 default ones, as I can't find some bluetooth ones that ARE NOT in-ear, as I can't stand the feeling when my ears are "sealed" with in-ear headphones.
Sennheiser CX6.00BT. I can connect to both my phone and laptop at the same time so I can listen to music and take calls however someone wants to get hold of me.
The charge should last a full office day, or close to, but I charge them on my lunch break to be sure.
Sennheiser G4ME ZERO. First headset (of about 50) I've found that is comfortable (with glasses), I can wear it for hours, and adequately blocks out the cacophonous background household noises.
I know, it is a gaming headset. But it is fabulous.
When I listen to music or watch content, I use this pair of Pioneer SE-DHP800 which has been thru a lot with me but has always served me well. I run it over optical audio so the sound is always superb.
I use a pair of Sony Bluetooth over-the-ear on the laptop. It's light and comfortable after long time wearing. The sound quality is good enough but not on par with the Pioneer.
The only problem is neither has got a mic, so for conferencing I have to switch over to the cheap Logitech.
I use a pair of HyperX Cloud 2 when working/gaming on my desktop and JLab JBuds Air Sport when I am using my Macbook or on the go.
Bose QC25. The noise cancellation is awesome, especially during commute/travelling, no matter if you travel by train or plane.
My daily drivers are the Fostex TH-X00 Purplehearts with Dekoni lambskin pads paired with a Modi Multibit+Loki+Magni Schiit stack.
The Purplehearts present tight and punchy bass response without being too heavy, and offer great clarity on the rest of the soundstage. On more classical pieces, I prefer my Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pros in 250ohms, they are open-back and the clarity and separation in the highs is stunning, although as a result of which I don't like to wear them all day.
