This is what I'm currently working on, the front end is React and the backend is MeiliSearch on an Ubuntu LXD container because it seems to be a cheaper option than Algolia. I deployed the front end to Cloudflare pages and the backend to a local VM proxied via Cloudflare.

If anyone has recommendations for MeiliSearch alternatives that might be better I'd love to hear about them.
