This is great. I will share it with my team.

I have been mentoring for a couple years now and I will offer this:

  • Prioritize helping out your team members. Your project can wait a few hours.
  • Always explain why. Your team members will thank you. It will also improve your ability to think critically about the problems you are facing in the future if you force yourself to say what you are thinking out loud.
  • Don't wait for people to ask for help, offer your help. Especially on teams that don't do pairing.
  • Look for opportunities for juniors to make valuable contributions to the business.
