Thanks for this post!
What advice would you give to a teen who's looking for more work / internship experience, and how would you approach learning backend technologies?

Hey Kewbish,

Huge kudos to you for getting into development and putting yourself out there for more experience. It's really about reaching out to companies, finding some people on twitter, putting yourself in front of as many faces as you can.

You might also start locally. Have a look at development houses or agencies in your area as they will be more likely to have you in as an intern or work experience.

Finally, you could look at contributing to some open source projects as that's a great way to increase your reputation.

With learning backend stuff, take a look at Udemy, or Free Code Camp as they offer courses on Python (for free!). 👍🏻

Popular backend languages these days seem to be Python, Ruby and Go. Usually linked up with Mongo DB for the database side of things. If you're more interested in the Microsoft side of things, then they have a ton of helpful tutorials and starter projects for getting into C# and .Net, which is well established and has a great community.
