Prologue: 891 Days

Howdy, it's Care.

It’s nice to meet you! 2020 was certainly a ride, much like one of those hazardous roller coasters at an amusement park. No one can refute that, but like any other roller coaster, it had its ups and downs. Even if 2021 is yet another roller coaster, by introducing myself I hope I can start 2021 going uphill. I’m interested in UX/UI design and a technical understanding in order to handle development in teams. I’m still new so always

For my personal life, my interests tend to be varied - some examples being games and anime to sewing and photography to rollerblading. One fascination of mine is costumes and props for conventions. For large scale projects, required skills go beyond simple sewing and hot glue. Knowing basic electrical circuiting, how to use molding and epoxy resin, thermoplastics, modeling, cosmetics, photoshop and filming, and even more - that is what goes into many large scale costumes and props. It is a planned mix of technical skills and artistry to give birth to an unbelievable creation.

To me, the interactions of the front and back end development processes are much like this. Like how many video games wouldn’t be as good without a harmony of sound, graphics, and programming, I believe you need different elements, skills, and tools to make a vision happen.

As a current student, I have experience with more high level languages such as Python and Java as well as front end languages like HTML, CSS, and Javascript, but I wouldn’t say I’m an expert on any of these. Application itself is the best way to enhance these skills and I still have a lot to learn, which can be hard these days. While I do have experience with said languages, I thrive more with brainstorming, team cohesiveness, and managing projects such as prototyping or technical PR with programs such as Adobe software, 3D CAD, and Figma

A large concern of mine is UX/UI design that appeals to those of neurodiversity in terms of education, socialization, and mental wellbeing. A whole generation of babies are being born who might live with remote learning indefinitely. Now more than ever, the integration of the two domains of art and technology are a must for effective ways of education.

Personally I believe a lot in, “don’t knock it till you try it.” Only recently about two and a half years ago (about 891 days), I started my second childhood (my college career) with that in mind. After two and a half years, I don’t have much under my belt, but I believe my work ethic is solid. The foundation is built on marketing, studio art, basic coding, volunteering, and likewise personal projects that offered nothing but enjoyment and experience.

I’m looking forward to learning and understanding a lot more in the future about our complex systems and world. Even just recently I learned a little about Git, Github, basic design processes, and workflow. This is only the tip of the iceberg and I can’t wait to truly help in future projects. See you soon, I hope I can work with a team soon to create something together!
