Do you have a goto for basic graphics / icons when you're not a designer?

Hi DEV community!

This is my first post on here, so we'll see how it goes!

I am mainly the developer type that dabbles in design as needed. To take my work/content to the next level, I would like to spice it up with images/artwork/icons.

Anyone else in the same boat that has a goto process for getting this done besides just knowing/hiring a graphics person?
On top of that, it would nice if there was something that, given time, would be an aquired skill the longer we used it (versus go here, click and download).
For example, I use https://excalidraw.com/ for mockups and I get faster each time I do one but also more creative...

This repos from Traversy Media includes a lot of resources. It's usually the first place I go to when searching for just about everything

Dang! This list is long. It's like it might have easier to put what links NOT to use on there.

Do you have any on there that are tried and true?

And thanks for sharing that, bookmarking now.

Most of them are fitting depending on your use case. I figured most of the time, the resources on top of each list are the better ones. There are outliners with some lists, e.g. with the icons

For my personal projects I pull icons from the free ones on iconfinder.com. I can't draw worth a crap so a lot of my projects wind up in grayscale.
