I disagree:

Architectural flexibility is mostly YAGNI.

Enhanced security is laughable. Having two+ security models is a good way to introduce complexity that your users will route themselves around. This is beside the fact that local data center security is most often way worse than a cloud provider’s.

Compliance choice actually speaks to this... if systems rely on the auditor checking certain boxes while you maintain letter of the law compliance, then you’re lying to yourself about how meaningful the audit is.

Ease of work is not true, either. Maintaining two stacks is a lot more complicated than maintaining and perfecting one.

EDIT: And we haven’t even started talking about being able to shift from capex to opex.
