I haven't done application development since graduating from college. I prefer web development and that is what lead me to find the communities that I am a part of. I can't speak for everyone, that is just the route I took. I did not like working with desktop technologies.

I have barely done any web application, maybe maximum of 3 simple websites in university since a computer science major barely even mentioned web.
