I know the article is kind of old but I just saw it. I believe the man purpose of a Frame Work to create a disciple dev environment. Also, it makes hiring developers easier. Therefore, I believe the back-end must have a know FW however for FE you can write your own FW and release it to public domain to get feedback. Creating a FW in a vacuum is very bad idea. It will corner you.
