Today, we had the opportunity to chat with Ben Gubler, the founder of Squirrelly, an ultrafast, lightweight, modern JS template engine. He talked about his experiences scaling his early stage open source project. If there are any other developers in the early stages of project development, this interview might be interesting to you.
These are the 3 things he said he'd do differently, if he could start the project over:
- Pick my tooling better
- Focus on writing good tests during development
- Be more confident, take more risks, reach out to people for feedback.
Also, he talked about starting a project with no corporate funding and how he approaches the challenge of monetization.
