Effectiveness of short-term goals

I remember this one advice about long and difficult climbs: it explained how that only concentrating on the summit, your mind would begin to doubt your ability to reach it, and you will be more prone to failure. You can nearly always complete the climb if you look only a few steps ahead, far enough to escape any obstacles.

The key is to stay focused on the task at hand, only looking up to ensure that you are on your path to meet your final goal. This is one of the most important advices I have worked on that short-term goals are the only perfect way to achieving long term goals and I make sure my team and others benefit from it too.
One of the most important aspects of goal-setting is to set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Ambitious, Realistic, and Time-bound) goals, whilst keeping them short-term as component of a bigger goal. You'll be able to keep up to the tempo, racing from one objective to another reaching your long-term goals faster and more effectively.

These are my 3 top tips to set short-term goals.
More Focus.
Short-term goals help you focus and direct your efforts. You have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish and when you want to accomplish it, which boosts productivity and motivation.
Planning daily and weekly allows you to focus on what you need to do to reach your goal while screening out the rest. Focusing more on little goal-oriented activities might help you feel less stressed, minimize your activity list, and better organize your day. These are attainable goals that will make you feel like you're progressing.
Self-Confidence
Setting goals is effective when you have a specific, quantifiable end goal in mind that is both interesting and encouraging. You must be emotionally driven as well as intellectually invested in order to attain your goal. You will feel fantastic about accomplishing it. Setting and achieving goals increases one's self-confidence and self-esteem.
Reduces procrastination
Procrastination might prevent you from reaching goals in life and in business that are essential to you. Short-term goals make it easier to stop procrastinating since they are more attainable.  You are less prone to postpone when you have a particular goal to achieve that feels reachable. Rather than procrastinating and spending too much time pondering what you should do, write it down so you have a purpose and a road to follow.

Setting short term goals has motivated me constantly to achieve my bigger goals and I stand where I am today because of it.
