PHP. At some point I've even thought, that programming is not the thing I want to do in my life. But then I switch to Python, and it changed everything. Now I'm back on track and looking at another languages too.
Notepads and simple code editors. Life is too short to waste time on things which are perfect job for computer (like manual refactoring, looking up superclasses, remembering from where to import things, running tests by manually typing commands etc etc). Now I use paid JetBrains IDEs.
