I think I consider this one the worst because of the outcome. At the time I was working as a contractor in the worsr place I've worked in my whole career and wanted a change really bad. I got a chance for an interview in this place and went for the first interview. That day, with the commute and waiting for the interview, I lost half a day at the current job, hours that won't get paid. I did the usual interview with HR and technical interview with some people from the development department. After a couple of days, they call me back for a interview with the manager of the development deparment. In the interview, he tells me about always being on call, overtime and whatnot, and that's when I started to have second thoughts. After that interview, a couple days later I get a call from them that they wanted to make me a job offer. When they tell me the offer and salary, I snapped: the salary was less what I was making in my current job and was the salary I was making 5 years before that interview. I told them that, that I felt insulted and that was it. A couple of months later I got a better job.
