Mainly web development for money. Everything else for fun :) Rust, WebAssembly, Flutter, ML, C64 Assembly, Raspberry, ... a lot of plans, much less free time to work on them.

Menus in CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT (clean boot, HIMEM.SYS, HIMEM+EMM, etc)
Every program/game needed a different configuration (frequent restarts).

Anyone heard of "unreal mode" ? (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unreal_mode)
I wrote a game (or base of a game) in unreal mode and then in WATCOM C++/DOS4GW
back in maybe 1995.
Those were heroic times...
