I used to like Pro Hacker Theme but after using it for 1 year, it wasn't interesting because it was all green and I couldn't distinguish some tags easily. So I switched to the preinstalled Abyss in VS Code

I have seen your Bearded Theme I'm now switching to it. It looks good. Haha

Tokyo Night is my go to lately. I like it as a VSCode theme, or the way I've been using it over the last couple months as a Neovim theme and then I do a transparent background with a dark, water wave image as my terminal background. It's awesome!

After not being able to find a theme I really liked that uses neutral/warm color I made my own theme for JetBrains IDEs, called Tanne. Also recently ported it to VSCode.

I really like Tania Rascina's New Moon Theme. It looks elegant, non-distractive and brought me through some longer nights without having to laser my eyes:

Surprised that nobody mentioned Solarized.

Tbh, I was never a fan of Solarized, I assume majority don't like that theme

The reason why it's worth - easy on eyes, designed to keep your vision.
Everything else is just a random color pick that might end up making you feel tired faster than you expect.

I like light, minimal themes with purposeful color highlighting. My favorite used to be Ascetic, but sadly it hasn't been updated in 4 years and has some bugs.

So my current favorite is Alabaster.

I tried a few... in the end I came back to the VSCode dark+ default... the blue status bar used to bother me, but now I got used to it. But this thread is going to make me try new ones 🙂🙂

I love the Dracula Pro Buffy variant. It's my main color theme for all my applications that I can setup with a theme.
