I also recommend the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. Mostly because it's Linux distro (Raspbian) is super stable and solid. That's very important when you need to get going with your projects. I use it as a LoRWAN gateway and it's rock solid.
I'm a fan of Open Source and have a growing interest in serverless and edge computing. I'm not a big fan of spiders, but they're doing good work eating bugs. I also stream on Twitch.
