Lookup a Value and Return a Different Cell From the Table:
To lookup a value and return a different cell from the table, do as follows.
- Let’s consider an example to know how to do this. In the below example image, you can see the list of names in Column A , and their marks are given in Column B.
- You have to select a cell to display the result.
- On the Kutools Tab, select the Formula Helper option, choose the Formula Helper option from the menu.
- It will open the Formula Helper dialog box.
- In that dialog box, select the Look for a value in list option from Choose a Formula box.
- You need to check the filter box and enter look into the text box to filter the formula quickly.
- Table_array box – You need to click the button to select the table which contains the Lookup Value and the result value.
- Lookup_value box – You have to click the button to select the cell contains the Lookup value or you can directly enter the value in this box.
- In the Column box, you have to click the button to select the column which contains the returning value.
- Finally, you need to click the OK button to get the result.
