General Formula:

  • Use the below formula to rank a set of race times in Excel.

=RANK(time,times,1)

Syntax Explanations:

  • RANK – This function will return the rank of a number from a list of numerical values. Read more on the RANK Function.
  • Times – It specifies the input range from your worksheet.
  • Time – It represents the input value.
  • Comma symbol (,) – It is a separator that helps to separate a list of values.
  • Parenthesis () – The main purpose of this symbol is to group the elements.
