I personally decided to keep it in my development group,
because I didn't see any value in having the dashboard available in production.
I think that there is value in running this tool in production because it doesn't get more real than real, live users using the app. You can see real production usage at the end of a period (e.g. one week) 😃
I wouldn't recommend running it for a long time in production. I'm sure there is a performance hit for running it in production.
I'm probably a bit late to the game.. Yes, you can run in production and although you may take a hit in performance, you can always limit the percentage of calls getting traced. See mayerdan.com/rubynation-production...
