Congrats on the new project! Good that you're thinking about adoption and marketing early.

I'd recommend connecting with the early adopters and first users, and asking them to share the successful experiences they're having with the project. Maybe they'd be willing to write a blog post about it, make a contribution, or at least tell some of their developer friends. After you have a good group of early adopters and some social proof, you can move on to channels with more reach like Twitter, popular blogs, or right here on DEV. For more information about this approach, check out this blog post about the Orbit Model.
