- Saturday : I got up early to finish up preparations for the radio show. While on Twitter looking up artists' accounts, I saw a trending story about Wakefield, Mass. Apparently they were in an "armed standoff" with people that "didn't respect our laws". Looked more into it and came across a recording of a live stream video of one of the people involved in the ongoing incident. Their side of the story pretty much contradicted what the news and police were saying, but with actual video from the scene. So I basically spent the morning posting the video as a reply to any time I saw someone just repeating the news and asked them to take a look at the video and come to their own conclusions. There were 3 live streamed videos through out the day and they went from having like less than 1000 views to overs 100's of thousands. Hopefully people could see how sometimes what we are told are not always what is happening. Then I did the radio show and had a good time. Sunday : Had the 2nd edition of my live streams at https://untilit.works Everything went pretty well. Did my post radio show promo work and other chores during the work sessions. I added a new functionality of having the viewers of the break sessions create highlight videos that they can download and share to Twitter with a click of a button. Everytime I remembered to do it, it worked! haha Even had a listener of the radio show stop by. It's weird but I keep running into an issue where the last break session of the day, my microphone audio cuts out. It happened last week during the last break session as well. I thought maybe it was the dongle everything was pulled into, so I plugged the microphone directly into the laptop. I'm going to try another microphone and see if that helps. I did run an operating system update after the show, so maybe that will help also. Who knows. Also found out that it was Bill Withers' birthday, so I'll be celebrating that. Oh and I watched the new "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train" anime movie. Pretty good.
Monday : Since Sunday was a holiday in America, we also got Monday off. I basically worked on some styling of the generated highlights and tried to figure out how to get the thumbnails of record live stream videos. I can't get it from Vimeo once it gets uploaded because it's not available due to the video still needing to be transcoded and they don't work with webhooks which could let me know when the video and thumbnail would be ready. I think I may have found another option using the archive link that comes back once the live stream is over. I'll be working on that this week.
Professional : Pretty meeting filled Tuesday. Met with a bunch of folks and planned for what I'll be working on for the next couple of weeks. Pretty much it.
Personal : Did some digging in the documentation for the API I'm using to generate the highlight videos. Looks like they may have added something since I last looked at it that will help with the styling I wanted to do. Did some quick changes and I'm liking how things are working. I'll be doing more testing and working out the styling.
There's a tropical depression that is supposed to hit Florida this week so there ain't no sunshine in the sunshine state. Been pretty cloudy and windy. Tonight, I'm going to finish designing a shirt I've had in my mind for a while and create a promo graphic. Then if there's time, I want to see if the way I'm thinking to get the thumbnail of the videos will work. I want to be able to get the archived videos section of the site working. That's pretty much that last part missing from the front page. Hope to have that done this week. If I get the chance, I'd also like to try and see if I can get the details of the videos automatically generated from an AI company I came across.
