I've heard that some places will temp-hire folks for a tiny job as part of the interview process. Generally they give real problems to solve and the interviewee works with the existing team to solve it.

I'm curious what you think about this approach. It doesn't solve many of the accessibility/time-based issues with tech screening, but it does show that you value the time of folks you're trying to hire. It seems like it would provide a more valid assessment in the end, as well.
