IMO leaving your job isn’t necessary as long as you know you can dedicate time to your new business venture. If wanting to leave, I’d also wait a while for your business to succeed due to lack of income etc.

Well, if you keep your job and try to build something on the side at the same time, it doesn't really work IMO. I notice that either: the "side business" doesn't really progress anywhere because of lack of time, or you get a burnout from overworking yourself with basically two full-time jobs. If your main job is a small part time, it might be the exception. Please also keep in mind that your thoughts will be occupied by two jobs, which also a psychological burden. So while it would be nice to develop something on the side while keeping the safety of your main job, in practice it IMHO does not really work out.

Sorry for possibly being cynical, but it should not be recommended to quit the job unless you know exactly what you do and it surely is not enough to read a short overview, which takes just a few minutes.
But it has been interesting, thanks!
