I thought I was reading my biography.

I am early on my career, 3 years into development and I hate doing UIs. Why would anyone want to spend so much time adjusting pixels for users who change their minds all the time? No thanks but I'm good. I'm happy with the design and algorithms. Going deep into software architecture is my career goal. I can do that with minimal experience on UI. If a need arises, I'll use my code design experience and apply it on UI. Or so I thought...

Reading your post is like a warning sign to me. I ~am~ there at the early stages. Hating UI. Avoiding UI. Making excuses: I'm a back-end guy, go to Joe for UIs. Honestly, I am hating myself everytime I say "I hate doing UIs". It feels childish. I feel incompetent. And as I've read your post, I don't think it would be nice to hear it from other developers. I want to help it. I want to act. Maybe its time. I will try. Thanks.

You shouldn't feel incompetent! Recognizing where you can improve is a tremendous strength. A lot of people refuse to admit when they are weak in an area. Good luck on finding your inspiration for UI development :-)
