Hi, welcome to dev.to. Nice to read your reflexions about remote working.

How do you write about non technical skills (ex: volunteer at XYZ, board member al NGO, etc.)? In my actual role, when I interview an applicant I ask them about their hobbies and how their soft skills could be used in our company (yeah, for software engineer).

So, my question is, do you think relevant put this kind of information in your resume or just leave for the interview process?.

Hi Dennis, thank you for your question, it's very pertinent! I do think it's relevant to write it down in the resume AND bring it up in the interview process. You should describe it with the same detail as any professional experience (check the article again or my reply below to David's question 👇) with what you've done, what value you brought to the table and perhaps how it made you a better person and professional. And because not every recruiter/manager will care about it or think about bringing it up in an interview, you'll be the one to bring it up and make a connection as to why this experience helped you develop important traits for the position you're applying to or somehow relates positively to the company (hinting again at how important it is to know the company).

Hope it helps 🙏
