Hi everyone, this is my third month as a freelancer and I still struggle to find clients. I just have no idea how to reach out to them. Where and how...
I am a web developer who have experience with CRMs, ESPs, marketing automation, segmentation funnels, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel and other marketer related stuff. For example: Infusionsoft, Drip, MailChimp, AWeber, ActiveCampaign, ClickBank, ThriveCart etc. etc. etc... Top of that as a programmer I spend all my time doing Wordpress, Node.js, React, Git, MySQL, Redis, PHP.
I barely hit 10 hours a week, though that's more than enough to cover my living and some fun.
Right now, I have a good friend who helped me a lot (more like a mentor) and he also helped to get a few clients. But I need more clients because I still have more than 30 hours free every week.
I am trying to figure out my target audience - but I mostly work with marketers so they are my primary target. They do the marketing - get someone to do the design stuff - and let me do all the technical stuff. This worked for 5 years before I had to become a freelancer. And this is kinda worked in the last 2 months.
How do you find new clients? Freelancing platforms? Social platform? (Which and how?) Friends?
What can I do to become more professional? Right now, I always do everything on time, If I ever think I'll miss the deadline - I notify the client days or even weeks before it. I send invoices on time, I do quality work, I suggest ideas to the client.
How can I utilize LinkedIn and Facebook to get more clients?
Few things I have in mind:
- Start blogging
- Create my own website to look more professional
- Create my own product (for marketers)
- Think about what services I can offer and list it out on my website fixed price rather than doing work on hourly based rate.
