Thank you for sharing. I’ve been in that mindset of working hard for the last couple of years in a startup - doing 60 hour weeks. I’m starting to see the impact it’s been having and what I’m missing out on with friends and family.

There is a tradeoff for every decision we make and how we spent our time. The idea that you can "have it all" is hard to achieve in my oppinion, doing more of this usually means having less time for other areas, f. ex. friends or family.

There is nothing particularly wrong about working 60 hours a week on inspiring projects and stuff that is really moving you forward. But if it's not your own path you are following, then it might fire back as it did for me.

Now I am setting myself clear limits on how much time I spent on my work and side projects, and try to have a more holistic view on life including all those other areas that suffered for a long time. This didn't change over night and it's still a continous process, but so far I enjoy the ride and am really thankful for all the possibilities I have in life (often it's the small things that matter).
