As the person who started learning a JavaScript recently and getting into the Web Development overall, I really find these one useful.
Given examples are great and they force the reader to look at them carefully and to reconsider their first pick solutions.
Personally these examples showed me a lot of new things and gave me a good background as well as motivation to explore and learn more about specific details.
