I have an idea for a candidate referral platform that I would like to further validate to see if it is something that you would consider using.
A platform where people can earn extra cash simply by making referrals for tech-specific roles.
Below is a brief summary of how it would work.
An agency or direct employer posts a job advert seeking a let's say a Python Developer for a company based in New York.
A bounty is then offered for every successful referral. What sets this apart from your typical referral system is that a bounty payout happens on 2 levels.
A small bounty is awarded if the referral secures a final stage or face to face interview. This shows that the candidate they referred was a good one but unfortunately missed out on securing the role. This metric as well as a number of others is recorded by the platform and will be displayed on the referrers profile.
A further bonus or large sum bounty is awarded if the referral secures the role.
A user can refer a maximum of 5 people they know for each bounty.
These people will all receive an email where they can either accept or decline the referral offer.
If they choose to accept the referral then they will be redirected back to the platform where they can create a basic profile. The agency or direct employer will then get notified.
Every stage of the candidate's progression will be tracked through the platform.
I have already spoken with a number of agencies and direct employers and the majority of them are willing the award payouts on the 2 levels mentioned.
I would like to keep the initial MVP as simple as possible, then I hope to role out some additional features as I gain more feedback.
Let me know if this is something that you would find useful.
