The $3 might not be a bad option, especially for those who don't have the patience or desire to enable developer mode, install the Android SDK, fire up adb, connect a working cable, enable USB debugging, and then run the right commands. Anyone doing Android development probably has already done all of those things, however.

whoa i bought a 3 dollar app to do it. I feel lame now.

Yeah I could totally do this. Although az screen recorder (the app i use) does let me edit them right on the phone.
Ok, so there is some added value. That's good to know.
